The seventh competency area is Creativity (just one more to go after this one!). Please consider the following question:
What Creative tasks do eLearning developers do?
Please post answers by Thursday, January 31st. We’ll start the final area, Technical Skills, on Tuesday, February 05.
In addition to what’s already been said, I would add problem-solving. For example, creative problem-solving is required when figuring out the best way to present content or to work around some Storyline limitation.
So I would ask, how is problem-solving related to creativity different from the problem-solving in Area 2?
Ah…good question. It may not be. I may have forgotten that problem-solving was its own area because it was so long ago. 🙂
I feel like everything we do is creative aside from reporting and client consultation.
– scoping
– pro formas
– writing content (questions, slides, etc.)
– video scripting, video planning
– objectives and strategy relating to modules and courses
– creating visual materials
– creating audio materials
– Create and iterate on screen design for eLearning courses
– Create graphics and media, including images, video, and audio
– Accurately (but uniquely) recreate diagrams and graphics that we may not have legal access to
– Make executive decisions on the positioning and placement of screen elements on a page-to-page basis
